The Pacaman Radiata 12v sleeper path light design is a great addition to the existing Radiata Path Light range. This specific design has an angled cut out, fitted with a Cocoa, anodised aluminium MR16 LED spot light. As a result, illumination is similar to that of a spread light. All of the light is emitted in a downwards, 45° angle with an even spread with no glare or light pollution. Consequently, it is the perfect path light. Although this is a low voltage path light, it is equally as bright as the mains alternative. This wooden path light is manufactured from solid Radiata Pine, South African timber, pressure treated with Tanalith E preservative in accordance with BS8417 (Use Class 4).
As a natural material, Radiata products will possess structural features, such as knots, splits and twists.Â

The Pacaman Radiata low voltage sleeper path light design is a great addition to the existing Radiata Path Light range. This specific design has an angled cut out, fitted with a Cocoa, anodised aluminium MR16 LED spot light. As a result, illumination is similar to that of a spread light. All of the light is emitted in a downwards, 45° angle with an even spread with no glare or light pollution. Consequently, it is the perfect path light.
The fitting has a replaceable LED MR16. This results in an endless choice of wattage / brightness and also colour temperatures such as warm white and daylight white. When the LED eventually comes to the end of it’s long life, this is easily replaced by a new LED lamp with no need to uproot the radiata sleeper. Although it is a low voltage 12v path light, it is equally as bright as the mains alternative. One transformer will either power one sleeper path light or multiple fittings, depending on power consumption.
This wooden path light is manufactured from Radiata Pine, a South African solid timber sleeper. In comparison to low quality timbers, radiata pine is known for reduced splitting and feathering. This stylish natural pine down light is fully sanded so has a smooth, top quality finish. It is also pressure treated with Tanalith E preservative in accordance with BS8417 (Use Class 4).
The expected life of the Radiata pine sleeper path light is up to 15 years with a 5 year Guarantee. At 1300mm high, 0.8m to 0.9m will be visible above ground, with 0.4m to 0.5m securely mounting under ground. The cable is concealed by a hardwood strip at the back of the bollard. The fitting is then wired externally at the base with a waterproof junction box.

When it comes to connections, there are multiple cables and adaptors which are suitable for various 12v plug and play lighting systems. Lumena’s Versa plug & play system is compatible with a number of brands such as Techmar. Cables are available in various length in various combinations of plug & play and open end. In addition, 3 way and 6 way connectors make it very simple for connecting components and fittings to just one transformer.
12v lightings requires a transformer in order for these to be powered. A transformer converts 240v mains down to 12v low voltage. We stock various wattage transformers (10w, 20w, 50w and 100w). Calculate which size transformer is required for a circuit following this simple formula:
Lamp Wattage x Lamp Quantity = Total Wattage Required (minimum)
Example: 5W MR16 x 3 fittings = 15WÂ Â (20W transformer required)
You must never exceed the wattage of a transformer, and avoid underloading. The ideal capacity is 75-90% load.
12v Lighting Set-up Example
12v lighting circuits can use a combination of plug and play and hard wired components. Versa Plug & play is simple with various compatible adaptors, cables and transformers available.
