The sensor on the Regent White PIR Lantern is adjustable, with two simple dials on the underside of the sensor. They increase / decrease the amount of time the light stays illuminated (TIME), and the light sensitivity of the PIR (SENS), which determines how dark it should be before the motion sensor comes into play. The higher the light sensitivity is set, the darker it will need to be before the sensor detects movement. PIR wall lights are a great energy saver, remaining off when nobody is around.
Also, the built in photocell ensures that the light does not turn on in the daytime which would waste energy. The light simply turns on when light is required; when somebody is approaching the location nearby where the fitting is positioned. They are also ideal for houses left unoccupied during holidays as any potential intruders would cause the light to turn on, exposing them in the darkness. Consequentely, many burglars would avoid houses with this type of light.
PLEASE NOTE: PIR wall lights also have a built in photocell, therefore they will not function in daylight. This ensures no energy is wasted by the light turning on and off during the day.
