Fortress Dusk to Dawn Illuminated Bollard (Photocell) – Professional Root Mount System – Green or Black
These professional and robust illuminated bollards with photocell have Fortress heads and a graphite black finish. 3 different heights are available (600mm, 800mm or 1000mm) – a height suitable for every application such as driveways, paths and sectioned areas. There are also three styles of head to choose from, ‘domed’, flat or ‘pillar’ top.
This Professional ‘In-Ground’ Root Mount System is for areas needing extra security. Replacing the standard tubular body and mounting base, the root mount bollards have longer bodies. At least 400mm secures / concretes in place without losing any height above ground. A strong mounting bar inside the tubular body acts as an anchor when set into concrete, whilst an optional secure cable outlet allows easy wiring after the bollard is fixed in place.
The head and 2.5mm thick extruded cylinder of the bollard are heavy duty die-cast aluminium. All screws are stainless steel, resulting in a completely rustproof and non-corrosive model.
Importantly, the Fortress head guards and protects the internal UV-stop polycarbonate lens and lamp from damage and vandalism. With 6 rings of robust aluminium surrounding the head, it is perfect for use in higher risk areas. Examples are gravel drives, public places, as well as areas where garden machinery may be used.
The inbuilt photocell sensor
This automatically turns the bollard on when it detects dark (dusk) and off again when it detects light (dawn). This means no need to remember to switch the fitting on and off manually, as well as less product maintenance. Fitted with an E27 LED bulb holder, this photocell bollard is an ideal and effective way to reduce energy bills yet add security.
Distance between illuminated bollards – how far?
The distance between bollards varies depending on the bulb’s light output. Also the type of area, and how much light you require. Below are some guidelines to determine how many bollards may be required for your project, based on our recommended bulbs providing a constant light between each fitting:
