Pro Solar Guarda Receives an Upgrade

Guarda Root Mount April-May25

The Vandal Resistant Pro Solar Guarda Bollard Light just got more robust!

The Guarda Solar Bollard and Path Light has always been known for its vandal-resistant design. This bollard is made of durable die-cast aluminium with a bulky tube of 210mm diameter. It also incorporates a substantial surface mount as well as protective struts surrounding the high-impact, crystalised, polycarbonate lens. Although the surface mount is compatible with various mounting solutions, including root-mount J-Bolts, we wanted to go one step further!

Following the success of our surface mounted Guarda, as well as our commercial root mounted mains bollards, we have combined the two to create an even sturdier, more vandal-resistant design! Introducing the Pro-Solar Guarda with Integrated Root Mount System! This professional root mount system is part of the bollard itself, with the bollard tube being extended by approximately 300mm. As a result, there is no reliance on adjoining bases and bolts, it is mounted via one solid extruded aluminium tube.

Submerge 300mm of the bollard tubular body beneath the ground and set it into concrete to create a 0.8m bollard light above ground. An anchor bar which passes through the tube anchors the bollard at the desired depth. This is the most solid and robust way of installing path lighting in areas prone to vandalism. Additionally, the Guarda head design further enhances durability, protecting it from damage.

The new Guarda Solar Bollards have also gone through an electrophoresis process. This process is commonly referred to as EP-coating, e-coating or e-painting, often used on alloy wheels. Electrophoresis uses electrical currents to apply a paint layer onto a metal surface. This technique is popular for its efficiency, consistency, and excellent corrosion resistance. This additional layer of protection beneath the usual powder coating in RAL 9005 makes this an ideal solution for coastal locations. This process will eventually be rolled out across all Pro-Solar Bollards, with many already available with electrophoresis.

Not only do the Root Mount Guarda Solar Bollards benefit from electrophoresis, but they are also equipped with a colour temperature switch, also known as a CCT switch. This feature allows the user to switch the bollard between daylight white (6000K) and warm white (3000K) accordingly. All of the electronic components are contained within the removable head, which means maintenance is easy, even when securely root mounted into concrete as a permanent fixture.

Guarda surface mount is still available in warm white (3000K) while stock lasts.
