Product Description

Stainless Steel Outdoor Wall Lantern

This modern outdoor wall light with stylish white, shatter-resistant Globe head is made from high quality stainless steel, and is great for a minimalist designed garden or entrance area. An almost opaque white globe conceals the bulb, resulting in a subtle glow with no glare applying atmospheric lighting to the surrounding area. The white globe looks particularly pleasing when a cool or daylight white light bulb is used which enhances the crisp white colour. A warm coloured light bulb will transform the globe into a golden sphere. A matching post light and dusk to dawn version of the Spherica 250 is also available.

IP Ratings

IP Ratings are commonly found on lighting products to determine how well they are protected against specific conditions namely water and dust. The letters ‘IP’ stand for ‘Ingress Protection’. IP Ratings include 2 numbers, the first one refers to the level of protection against solids, such as hands, tools, grit and dust. The second refers to protection against liquids. The protection is numerically rated between 0 and 6 for solids (8 for liquids - fully submersible), with 0 being not protected and 6 or 8 being the highest level of protection. An IP rating of IP43 is suitable for outdoor use. To see a table please click here.

Colour Temperature

The colour temperature of a lamp is a measure of the “warmth” or “coldness” of the light that it produces. Lamps that produce a “warm” or “yellowish” light (for example the sodium lamps used for street lighting which appear orange) have a low colour temperature. Lamps producing a pure white or bluish tinged light have a higher colour temperature.

Colour temperature is measured in degrees Kelvin (K) and is defined as “the temperature of a black body having the same colour appearance as the type of lamp being considered”.
