240v External PIR Control Unit – Motion Sensor (240v)

This 240v External PIR outdoor  motion sensor is perfect for mounting in the garden to control the garden lighting system. Sealed into an outdoor use box, the sensor is versatile in terms of it’s mounting position (any flat surface). An internal dip switch control box allows various settings to adjust. These include a dusk to dawn setting whereby the sensor will either work throughout the day or only at night. Also, high or low sensitivity (detection range), and various time delays.

This PIR sensor uses infra-red, IC and SMD technology to detect movement, as well as light. When the sensor detects movement it will turn on the light fitting. It will then turn off again once the object detected is out of range. This adds to security around the home, and also reduces energy bills as the lights will only remain illuminated when required, not all night.

Ideally, the sensor should mount onto a surface which will not be affected by direct light or with any obstructions nearby. There is an external mounting bracket. However the box will also mount via the internal mounting holes in each corner. 2 cable glands are also supplied for ease of installation / wiring offering secure, waterproof connections on top of the self sealing membrane of each outlet.
